WHAT TO SEE IN FRIGILIANA | PLANS
We want your stay at La Posada Morisca to be much more than the hotel accommodation in Frigiliana. When you lean out of the balconies you can enjoy impressive views of this beautiful town. Do not forget that you will live a unique experience in one of the Most Beautiful Towns in Spain and has also received awards such as the Most Beautiful Town in Andalusia.
Its state of conservation, its location between the sea and the mountains and its crossroads of cultures make visiting Frigiliana an unforgettable experience. Despite enjoying a magnificent rural and natural environment, we are very well connected, just 10 minutes from the A7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo) and 5 kilometers from the coastal town of Nerja, one of the most famous towns in the Axarquía from Malaga.
THESE ARE THE FOUR VISITS YOU MUST SEE IN FRIGILIANA TO ENJOY ALL ITS CHARM
WHAT TO SEE IN FRIGILIANA: VISIT 1
DOWNTOWN AREA
It is located around La Casa Manoriega de Los Condes, also known as El Ingenio. It is a beautiful and elegant building that, although you cannot visit the inside, was once a cane honey factory, the most famous product of Frigiliana. In this part there is also one of the most interesting places to see in Frigiliana, La Casa del Apero, which houses, among other things, the first Archaeological Museum of the Axarquía.
This is one of the liveliest areas and around the Parque de Las Tres Culturas, there are many bars and restaurants where you can have a drink with spectacular views of the green valleys, where tropical fruits abound, with the sea as a backdrop.
From this area you can also take the tourist train that for €3 will give you a guided tour with explanations of the town and its surroundings.

WHAT TO SEE IN FRIGILIANA: VISIT 2
MOORISH QUARTER
This is undoubtedly the most charming and original area to visit in Frigiliana. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 2014, due to its excellent state of conservation, its winding streets house an interesting legacy that will take you back to the time when Muslims inhabited these lands. Its white houses and some places like the Old Fountain, the Tower, the Church of San Antonio or the remains of the Castle, which are located in the upper part of the neighborhood, stand out.
Get lost and explore this neighborhood without a fixed route to discover the colorful houses of Frigiliana and some of its most famous streets such as Calle Real, Zacatín or Calle Chorruelo. And, to soak up the history of the Moorish expulsion in 1569 after the “Rebellion of the Alpujarras”, you can stop to read the 12 ceramic panels that are scattered throughout the neighborhood.

LOOKOUTS
The location of Frigiliana, with an altitude of 320 meters above sea level, 6 kilometers from the beach and at the same time at the foot of the Natural Park of the Sierras de Almijara, Tejeda and Alhama, which have peaks of almost 2000 meters of altitude, it makes that, look where you look, it is beautiful. And, if we add to all this the fact that it is a very well-kept white town and an area where the cultivation of tropical fruits such as avocado or mango stands out, the environment becomes absolutely spectacular.
For this reason, one of the things to see in Frigiliana, yes or yes, are its viewpoints, from which you can take some postcard photos. There are many, but to name a few we recommend the Parque de las Tres Culturas, in the center of town, the Mirador del Peñón de la Sabina, which is located in the Moorish Quarter, and of course, the one we have on the terrace of our hotel.
If you want to do a bit of hiking, you can go up to the Fort, a hill that is 963 meters high from where you can see impressive views of the entire town of Frigiliana with the Malaga coast in the background. From Frigiliana it takes about 3 hours, but from our hotel you can do this route in just over 1 hour.

SIERRA DE ALMIJARA
As we have advanced, we are at the foot of the Sierra de la Almijara, nestled within the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park, which covers the provinces of Malaga and Granada. This makes us an ideal place to do a multitude of hiking routes, many of which we can recommend and explain to you at the hotel. Some of the most famous are that of El Fuerte, which we have mentioned in the part of the viewpoints, or that of the Río Chillar. Here you can see many more.
Hiking is, therefore, another of the main attractions for visiting Frigiliana and falling in love with its natural environment, where caves and waterfalls abound.
