FRIGILIAN ROUTE-CAHORROS DEL RÍO HIGUERÓN
Estimated time: 2h 30 minutes
Length of the route: 4.6 KM
Departure/Finish: Frigiliana / Frigiliana
We will start the route from the Civil Guard barracks, along a path that goes down to the east along the Cuesta del Apero towards the Higuerón River.
When we reach the river, we have to turn right to “go down” the river in a southerly direction.
During the route, we will be able to make very interesting stops such as the one known as the “Dark Cave” (closed so that people cannot steal the prehistoric remains it houses).
Approximately a kilometer and a half later, we will see on our left some stairs that will take us to the river. A perfect moment to cool off and enjoy the landscape, which will surely remind you of a great canyon for canyoning.
We will continue walking until we reach an open area, now outside the cahorro, and we will begin to see some houses and farms for cattle in the area known as the “Almachares” (a word used in Arabic to designate an area for shepherds).

WE FOLLOW THE ROUTE TOWARDS FRIGILIANA
It is important that in this part of the route you follow these indications well so that you do not get lost.
Next to a cattle farm, the path that we must take to walk between farmhouses and farms starts until after 2.9 km, turning left again, and at 288 meters, we find a crossroads, having to take the path to the center, northeast facing.
During this part of the route we will see a beautiful panoramic view of the town of Frigiliana. The road will narrow and we will have to travel 600 meters, first to what is known as “Corral de Pinto” and then to the point of the Higuerón river from which we started the route.
Now we will walk the same route that we used before to start the route and we will arrive at our starting point.
